Since 1989, Scott has served as our director of safety responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of W. M. Jordan Company’s health and safety program. His efforts firmly establish the safety and well-being of all workers as a core corporate value. Our subcontractors and competitors consistently recognize his methodical, systematic approach to managing health and safety risks through mentoring, training, and tracking progress.
Scott is instrumental in moving the Virginia BEST safety program forward in cooperation with the Associated General Contractors of Virginia and the Virginia Department of Occupational Safety. He chairs both the ACG-VA’s BEST review board and their loss control committee. He is mentoring several other contractors participating in the Virginia BEST program in an effort to raise safety awareness and engagement industry-wide.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial supervision from Purdue University and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Ball State University. He is a past president of the AGC of Virginia and has served on the AGC Loss Control Committee for more than two decades. In appreciation of his service, the AGC of America appointed him as a Life Director of their board. Previously, he spent 20 years as a squadron flying safety officer, director of squadron safety, and nuclear safety officer for the U. S. Air Force.
