W.M. Jordan Company has provided construction services to our local shipyard since the 1980s. Early projects included the Modular Outfitting Assembly Building, Chemical Cleaning Facility, Radiological Support Facility, and staging areas for various shipbuilding activities. Through the years our firms have continued to work together on both manufacturing facilities for shipyard operations and research and development facilities, such as the Virginia Advanced Carrier Integration Center and the Downtown Engineering Building.

Today, Newport News Shipbuilding is the nation’s sole designer, builder and refueler of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and one of only two companies capable of designing and building nuclear-powered submarines. W.M. Jordan Company continues our long association with such projects as the Joint Manufacturing Assembly Facility, the Moveable Blast and Coat and MIP/SHT Enclosures, Covered Modular Assembly Facility, Covered Modular Outfitting Facility, and the Power Unit Assembly Facility. All of these projects support the shipyard’s ability to produce world-class aircraft carriers and submarines in our hometown.
