Project Estimator

My story: I grew up in Maryland and attended Prince George Community College and the University of Maryland, where I majored in Accounting. I started in the construction industry in 1980 with Toby Byrd Corporation, a small commercial contractor as an Estimator and a Project Manager in training. After that, I worked for a developer building office buildings, warehouses, and shopping centers and then worked for a larger contractor in Fredericksburg, Virginia, as an Estimator before moving to North Carolina in 1996.

Why I like working at W.M. Jordan Company: I’ve never before worked for a company with the success rate that W.M. Jordan has securing work – it’s incredible the way our team goes after and secures projects. Operations between the W.M. Jordan Company headquarters and regional offices are similar and consistent with standardized processes and unique systems.

My hidden talent: I’m very much a people person. I’m very comfortable with strangers and love to meet new people. We build buildings, but this industry is very much about building relationships. Being a good Estimator requires good interpersonal skills, so you can build relationships with subcontractors, owners, and architects.

My favorite things: I enjoy spending time with my family, my wife, kids, and grandkids, and I also enjoy playing golf.
