As we celebrate Administrative Professional’s Week 2021, we turn the spotlight to a few of W. M. Jordan’s administrators who help keep our teams and projects running smoothly. Today, we introduce you to Lisa Taylor, A project administrator in our Newport News, Virginia office.
How did you get into construction? I am one of the lucky ones that was sent to W. M. Jordan through a temp agency. I didn’t know much about construction but right away everyone was so welcoming to me. 15 years later and I am still here!
What are your main duties? Primarily, I answer the phones and greet people at our Newport News office. I will do some administrative work when my help is needed, and I frequently will help Claire McCleery out with different projects she has going on.
What do you enjoy the most about your job? The people! I love meeting new people, which happens a lot in my position as I am the first person they see when they come to the office. My co-workers are so nice and the trade partners I get to interact with are amazing too. It’s not unusual for me to answer the phone and already know who is on the other end. I get to form these great relationships with so many different people. I love it!
Is there anyone specific who has helped you in your career? Vice President, Claire McCleery is my go-to gal. I work with her a lot and anytime I need anything or have any questions she is always there for me.
