project details
The built environment has a profound impact on our natural environment, economy, health, and productivity. Buildings use a considerable amount of natural resources and energy, and produce waste and greenhouse gases. Green building techniques incorporate the guiding principles of sustainable design, while reducing the use of non-renewable resources and minimizing environmental impact.
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is the nation's foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote design and construction practices that significantly reduce or eliminate the negative impact of buildings on the environment and building occupants. In order to promote these goals, the USGBC developed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. Looking forward, LEED initiatives will help transform the built environment to sustainability.
With this in mind, W. M. Jordan Company formed an in-house LEED Steering Committee to identify and implement green building construction management processes, develop tools to ensure excellent performance, and promote education and training. With multiple LEED Accredited Professionals on staff and a full-time LEED Coordinator to assist with every project, we are positioned to help you maximize the LEED effort for your project. We have completed a variety of LEED certified buildings including an expansion to our own Richmond office, which received a LEED Gold Certification. Our dedication to Green Building principles and their benefits will impact our Virginia communities for generations to come.
