Westminster Canterbury's "The Next Chapter" is an expansion to an existing Continuing Care Retirement Community in Richmond. Built in four phases, the expansion centers around the Center for Creative Living, a two-story, 92,500 square foot building featuring a kitchen, dining room and lounge, meeting rooms, woodworking shop, areas for the creative arts, and a 320-seat Performing Arts Theater. The center also houses the Child Development Center and Community Choice (home health and community services) subsidiaries.

The expansion offers residents a variety of lifestyle options. Independent living accommodations are available in the Courtyard Villas Apartments, a 500,589 square foot, four-and five-story "H" shaped building with 188 apartments. There are ten floor plans ranging in size from 810 square feet to 2,900 square feet with single level underground parking. Twenty-two Homes on the Green, detached two-story single-family homes, represent four floor plans ranging from 1,845 square feet to more than 3,000 square feet. Assisted Living apartments are located on three floors directly above the Center for Creative Living. This 70,200 square foot building contains 67 apartments. A separate two-story, 61,900 square foot Memory Support building houses 72 residents. Seniors can select the best accommodations to suit their present needs, with plenty of choices available as their needs change over time.

Safety and security are primary concerns for a project of this magnitude. W. M. Jordan Company developed a complete site logistics plan designed to minimize the impact of construction operations on the lives of the residents. A new gatehouse provides a single point of entry to the community, with fencing provided to isolate areas under construction and maintain security within the complex. As the project progressed and each new phase was completed, the company moved to the next phase of the plan, enabling residents to enjoy access to all completed areas of the project while construction operations continued. The project included extensive site work, including a pond, a new service road, new parking lots, utilities to services the new homes, and extensive landscaping.

W. M. Jordan Company is renovating portions of the existing tower under a separate contract with Westminster Canterbury.
