Newport News Shipbuilding Employees' Credit Union is working with W. M. Jordan Company to design and build several credit union branches in Hampton Roads. W. M. Jordan Company hired James River Architects to design the prototype and modify it to fit each site. Three branches, one in Chesapeake, one in Newport News, and one in Gloucester, are complete and open. Construction is underway for fourth branch in Williamsburg.
Each 4,200 to 4,400 square foot facility contains lobby tellers, interior offices, a conference room, and drive-thru banking. Each branch features a greeter station, a tray ceiling in the lobby, and a media display. The elegant design includes brick and EIFS exterior finishes.
