May 17, 2016

Recently, the faculty of the Department of Building Construction at Virginia Tech honored Mike Depp as their 2016 Building Construction Outstanding Young Alumnus. This award honors Mike’s professionalism and commitment to our industry. We see this dedication every day in Mike’s work here at W. M. Jordan Company, and we couldn’t be more proud.

Mike is a 2006 graduate of the Building Construction Department, Design and Construction Track. While in college, he was a previous member of the Constructors Consortium and President of the Sigma Lambda Chi Honors Society. He also participated in a number of AGC-ASC student construction competitions, Commercial Teams. Upon graduation, he went to work for VIRTEXCO Corporation in Norfolk, VA, but we are pleased he is now part of the W. M. Jordan Company family. Working from our Roanoke office, Mike has had the opportunity to work on his favorite project to date, the Virginia Tech Indoor Athletic Training Facility.

Throughout his career, Mike has participated in both the Associated Builders and Contractors of VA and the Associated General Contractors of VA. He is currently an active participant with the AGC Young Leaders Roanoke Region. Since 2006, Michael has been a member of MLSoC Young Alumni Committee where he has held a number of positions including Co-Chair and Treasurer. He was also responsible for organizing a number of events and within the last two years has now been a member of the MLSoC Industry Board Alumni Sub-Committee.

Michael has been married to his wife Alicia for 7 years and has one beautiful daughter, Olivia, age 4. Congratulations, Mike!
