Joint venture with Bordeaux Construction for new jail in Bladen County, NC

W.M. Jordan Company and Bordeaux Construction will partner together to provide construction management at risk services for the new 187-bed Bladen County Jail located in Bladen County, NC. Competition was heated among companies vying for the project, but W.M. Jordan /Bordeaux, a Joint Venture, emerged with the winning hand. Both companies bring impressive credentials to the table and both have experience working with the jail’s designers, Moseley Architects. In addition to the new 187-bed jail, a Law Enforcement Center and Call Center have also been added to the project.

W. M. Jordan Company’s expertise with pre-construction services combined with Bordeaux’s extensive experience with detention centers in North Carolina offer Bladen County a unique blend of experience, resources and expertise for this project.

Notable project members include:

Ben Brisson of Tar Heel was introduced as the Project Manager.

Joe Jackson of Dublin will coordinate with local contractors, suppliers, and workers who can assist with the construction project. He will also be responsible for reaching out to minority and female contractors to participate in the project.

The existing jail was built in the 1960’s and the pressure to upgrade has been mounting in recent years. The new jail will be located on county-owned land off Smith Circle near the Powell-Melvin Agriculture Center. The project’s pre-planning and construction is expected to be completed within 24 months.

W.M. Jordan Company and Bordeaux Construction Company formed the Joint Venture in 2012 to best serve clients in North Carolina. The joint venture has flourished since its inception with projects at Nash Community College, Brunswick County Schools, and Wake County Schools.  Its success is based on a common desire to provide quality construction and a client-satisfaction driven product.
