CEO John Lawson of W.M. Jordan and Virginia Beach hotelier Bruce Thompson have been making waves in the Tidewater area for nearly twenty years. Their thriving business relationship is built on a firm foundation of mutual respect, shared values, and trust that allows the two men and their respective companies to consistently push creative boundaries and functional possibilities to unprecedented heights.

Having successfully collaborated on 10 major oceanfront developments since the 1990’s, Lawson and Thompson now turn their attention to what may be their most challenging undertaking yet – the redevelopment of the historic Virginia Beach Cavalier Hotel. The 87-year old building is a staple of the Virginia Beach community, and both men feel a deep sense of responsibility to its restoration.

Meanwhile, the pair has already broken ground on a new, 294-room Hilton Hotel and Conference Center in Norfolk. Among the project’s more impressive features is the Exchange at the Main – one of the most technologically advanced meeting centers in the country and the largest meeting space in Norfolk. Additionally, the project’s design will preserve the facades of adjacent buildings, a feature Lawson attributes to Thompson’s creativity.
