New Positions Promote Firm Growth

W. M. Jordan Company is pleased to announce several promotions within the company.

Effective March 1, 2013, Skip Smith has become Vice President of Development responsible for the direction of the firm’s expanding holdings and development efforts. During his 26 year tenure with W. M. Jordan Company, Mr. Smith has served as a Project Superintendent and Project Manager and as Vice President of Business Development for the past fourteen years.

In addition to his new role furthering development and ownership positions for the firm, he will continue as a Project Executive responsible for client satisfaction of specific clients and projects within the company. Mr. Smith sits on the boards of the Hampton Roads Alliance, DePaul Health Foundation, and the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad. He is past President of the Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate and past Chairman of DePaul Health Foundation.

Glenn Thompson has been promoted to Director of Business Development, responsible for leading the Business Development and Marketing team for W. M. Jordan Company’s three offices, located in Newport News, Virginia, Richmond, Virginia and Wilmington, North Carolina. Glenn joined the firm in 1995 and worked as a Project Engineer and Project Manager until becoming a Business Development Manager in 2007.

Mr. Thompson is a 1992 graduate of Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He serves as Vice Chair Elect of the Virginia Associated General Contractors and is a founding member and Chairman of the ACE Mentor Program of Central Virginia, a nationwide program designed to introduce high school students to the wide range of career opportunities open to young people in architecture, construction, engineering, and related areas of the building design and construction industry.
