WMJ Announces Geoff Bean as New Virtual Construction Coordinator

W. M. Jordan Company’s Virtual Design and Construction Department welcomes its newest member, Geoffrey Bean. Geoff interned with W. M. Jordan each summer and winter breaks during his college years and worked on several prominent projects including Grassfield High School, Sentara Belleharbour Medical Office Building, and the Power Unit Assembly Facility at Newport News Shipbuilding. Upon graduating from Virginia Tech in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction, Geoff joined W. M. Jordan Company full-time as a Project Engineer. Since that time he has earned his LEED Green Associate certification from the USGBC, served as LEED Coordinator for a barracks project at Fort Eustis, and worked in the field at the TCC Portsmouth Campus project.

Geoff spent the last two years at Riverside Regional Medical Center project assisting with their renovations and additions including a new Central Utility Plant and a new patient care Pavilion. In addition to his Project Engineering duties, Geoff managed the BIM coordination meetings, ran the Clash Detection process, and was instrumental in helping to coordinate a full facilities management model for the hospital to use for their operations and facility maintenance long after the construction is complete. His extensive work coordinating the Building Information Model helped him gain his newest role at the firm, Virtual Construction Coordinator.
